EUROGRUAS has begun the construction of the new lubricants plant of SKSol, in Cartagena.
The unloading of two reactors from the vessel BBC Oregón, which had to take them to Puerto de Escombreras, has been executed directly on the equipment which would take them to the plant afterwards.
More specifically, to transport the heaviest equipment, named CD-R0201 (317 t) and CD-R0202 (205 t), 22 GOLDHOFER axel lines driven by two IVECO TRAKKER 560-CV tractor units.
The assembly of a provisional metallic structure over the concrete bridge located at the exit of the port was necessary in order to make the transport possible. These works were carried out by ALTON.
Two lattice crawler cranes, one 600-ton TEREX DEMAG CC2800-1, used as main machine, and a 400-ton LIEBHERR LR 1400/2 for the holdback, were employed to lift the three reactors.
The project is still underway and EUROGRUAS is working for the lifting of the following heavy and big-size equipment, more specifically, two vacuum columns, the biggest one of which weighs 171 tons, measures 45 metres long and has a 5-metre diameter.
