EUROGRUAS replaces the regenerator’s CAP during the stop of the FCC unit at Cepsa Gibraltar’s Refinery.

The replacement of the regenerator’s CAP, the reactor’s CAP and the cyclones was conducted during the stop that took place last October at the FCC unit of Cepsa Gibraltar’s Refinery.

The main difficulty of this work resided in the little space available to settle a heavy crane such as 600-ton Terex TC 2800. The elaboration of a very detailed plan and proceeding concerning both the replacement works and the crane assembly was necessary, since the 72 metres of boom had to be assembled in an adjacent street and in only one piece. Once the boom was assembled, and using three cranes, the boom had to be set up over a rack and with a large radius, since a pipe rack placed between the crane and the street where the boom could be set also had to be removed.
