Cepsa has concluded the stop in the FCC plant of the refinery in “La Rábida” (Huelva), during which several maintenance works were undertaken aimed at improving the plant’s energy efficiency. The stop relied on a budget of 16 million EUR and the participation of around 50 contractor firms.

EUROGRUAS has conducted the partial replacement of the reactor FC-V1 (150 t) and the regenerator FC-V2 (125 t), essential pieces in the 28-day setting up, as scheduled. This maneuver has been carried out using two lattice crawler cranes, a 600-ton Terex Demag CC2800-1 and a 300-ton CC1800.

The works started extracting the head of the reactor with the cyclones (80 t) and taking apart the vessel to renovate it. Once completed the removal and replacement, the superior part of the reactor was placed again, concluding thus de works. A similar operation was conducted with the regenerator.
